Website development questions, answered plainly
Straight answers on price, timing, platforms, Thai and English sites, PDPA and what we do not sell, each pointing to the page with more detail.
How much does a website cost with us?
We have three one-time packages: Starter from THB 10,000, Business from THB 30,000 and E-commerce from THB 50,000, and every project gets its own written quote.
This page collects the questions Bangkok business owners ask us before they commit to a website, grouped by theme: money first, then timing, platforms and languages, life after launch and how to reach us.
Those figures are starting points, not a menu. Two sites with the same page count can land at different prices because one needs a booking flow in both Thai and English while the other is a single-language brochure. Our page on web design prices breaks down what each package includes and which requests move the number. Two things we deliberately leave to the quote rather than this page: the tax treatment of the price, and when payment is due. Both are written into your quote so they apply to your project, not to a generic example.
How much does a website cost with you?
Our packages start at THB 10,000 for a Starter site of up to five pages, THB 30,000 for a Business site of up to 15 pages in English and Thai, and THB 50,000 for an online store on Shopify or WooCommerce. All three are one-time, indicative figures. Your own price depends on pages, languages and features, and it is fixed in the written quote we send before work begins.
Do your prices include VAT?
The package figures on this site are indicative starting points, and we do not state a tax position on them here. How tax applies to your project is set out in your written quote, alongside the scope and the final price. If your accounts team needs a particular invoice format, mention it when you request the quote so the paperwork matches what they need.
What are your payment terms?
Payment terms are written into each quote rather than published as a fixed schedule, because a short Starter build and a large store with product import are not run the same way. You see exactly how and when payment is due before you accept anything. If you have a preference, for example to align payments with your own approval stages, raise it when we discuss the brief.
How long does a website project take?
Most projects go from agreed brief to live site in about 15 days. The number holds when the scope is settled early and the texts and photos arrive on time; it stretches when a store has a large catalogue to import or when approvals sit with several people. We would rather tell you that up front than miss a date you planned an opening around.
The work itself follows a fixed order: brief and quote, page plan, design, build, testing, then launch. Each stage ends with something you approve. If you want the full website development life cycle as we run it, including what you prepare at each point, the process page lays it out step by step.
How long does a website take?
Plan on about 15 days from an agreed brief for a typical project. A small site with its content ready can move quickly; a bilingual site waiting on Thai and English texts, or a store with hundreds of products to import, will take longer. The timeline in your quote is based on your scope, and we flag early if something on either side puts the date at risk.
Can you redesign my current website?
Yes, redesign is one of our services. Send us the address of your current site and tell us what is not working: it looks dated, it is slow on phones, it has no Thai version, or enquiries have dropped. We review what is worth keeping, such as pages that already get visits, and quote the redesign with the same written scope, timeline and price as a new build.
How do I start?
Send a short brief through the quote form or on WhatsApp: what the site should achieve, a rough page list, English, Thai or both, your deadline and your current website if you have one. Half-formed answers are fine. We come back with questions if something is missing, then a written quote. The build only begins once you have read that quote and accepted it.
Platforms, languages and PDPA
We build company sites on WordPress with a custom theme, and online stores on Shopify or WooCommerce. We do not use page builders, which keeps pages lighter and easier to maintain. The right platform depends on what you sell and who will run the site day to day, and the quote names the one we recommend and why.
Many Bangkok businesses serve Thai customers and foreign visitors at once: a Sukhumvit clinic, a riverside hotel, an import company talking to overseas suppliers. We build bilingual websites where each language has its own pages and its own menu, so neither audience lands on a half-translated page.
Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562 applies to any site that collects names, phone numbers or emails through a form, or sets non-essential cookies. Starter includes PDPA cookie consent. Beyond that, the consent and privacy setup for your project (cookie consent on Business and E-commerce builds, a privacy notice and consent on forms) is set in your written quote. The legal content of your policy is yours to confirm with your own adviser.
Which platforms do you build on?
WordPress for most company, hotel, clinic and service sites, always with a custom design, and on the Business package a custom theme with no page builder. For online stores we use Shopify or WooCommerce: Shopify when you want a hosted platform with less to manage, WooCommerce when the store lives inside a WordPress site or needs more control. We recommend one in the quote and explain the reasoning, so the choice is yours to confirm.
Do you use page builders like Elementor?
Not on Business sites: the Business package, from THB 30,000, is built on a custom WordPress theme with no page builder. For a Starter site, which is a custom design on WordPress, the build approach is set out in your quote. Builders make it easy to drag blocks around, but they tend to add heavy code that slows pages on mobile data, and they tie the design to one plugin. A custom theme loads less, is simpler to maintain, and still lets your team edit text, images and posts from the normal WordPress editor.
Can my site be in Thai and English?
Yes. We work in both languages, and the Business package is built for English and Thai from the start. Each language gets its own pages and menu, with a clear switcher, so a Thai customer and a foreign visitor each find what they need. Plan who will write or check each language's text early, because bilingual content is usually the part that takes longest to prepare.
Is my website PDPA-ready at launch?
It can be. The Starter package includes PDPA cookie consent, a banner that holds back non-essential cookies until the visitor agrees. On Business and E-commerce builds, cookie consent is set in your written quote, and wherever your forms collect personal data, the quote also covers the privacy notice page and consent checkboxes. What your privacy notice says about your business is a legal matter, so confirm the wording with your own adviser.
Do you build mobile apps?
No. We do not build mobile apps, web applications or custom software. Our work is websites, including the forms, booking or enquiry flows and online stores that live inside them. Every site we build is designed mobile-first, so it works well in a phone browser, which covers what many Bangkok businesses actually need before an app is worth considering.
After launch
A website needs looking after once it is live: plugin and platform updates, backups, security checks, small content changes, and a fix when a payment method or courier changes its settings. We offer ongoing WordPress maintenance and store upkeep after launch, priced per site on request because a five-page brochure and a busy WooCommerce shop need very different amounts of care.
This is also the section where we are clear about limits. We build and maintain websites. We do not sell SEO retainers, advertising, social media management, mobile apps, custom software, branding or standalone hosting. The answers below say so plainly, so you can plan those parts with a specialist from the start.
Do you offer maintenance after launch?
Yes. Once your site is live we can keep it updated, backed up and checked, and handle small changes for you. There are no fixed plan prices, because the work depends on the platform, the number of plugins, and how often the content changes. Ask for a maintenance quote for your site, either with the build quote or at any point after launch.
Do you offer SEO, ads or social media?
Not as ongoing services. We do not sell SEO retainers, link building, Google or Meta ads, or social media management. What we do build in is the groundwork: on-page SEO on Starter sites, and keyword mapping and schema markup on Business sites, so the pages are set up properly for search from launch. If you plan to run campaigns, hire a marketing specialist alongside us.
Do you host websites?
We do not sell hosting as a separate product. For WordPress and WooCommerce sites, you choose a hosting provider and we can advise on what the site needs before you sign up, then set the site up there. Shopify stores run on Shopify's own hosted platform under a Shopify plan. The quote notes which hosting arrangement your project assumes, so there is no confusion at launch.
Still have a question?
If your question is not answered here, ask us directly. You can reach us on WhatsApp or by phone at +66 93 004 4098, or by email at service@websitedevelopmentbangkok.com, every day from 10:00 to 19:00 Bangkok time. We work with clients across Thailand as well as in Bangkok, since briefs, design reviews and approvals all happen online, and our office is at 2056 New Phetchaburi Road in Huai Khwang.
The contact us page has every channel in one place. Anything you send through our forms is handled as described in our PDPA privacy notice. And if you are looking for a specific service, guide or industry page, the HTML sitemap lists every page on the site.
Which number should I use for WhatsApp and calls?
Use +66 93 004 4098 for both: it is our Thai mobile number, answered every day from 10:00 to 19:00 Bangkok time. If you would rather keep a written trail, email service@websitedevelopmentbangkok.com instead; form enquiries reach both channels.
What are your opening hours?
We are open every day, weekends included, from 10:00 to 19:00 Bangkok time (ICT, GMT+7). You can send a WhatsApp message, an email or a form enquiry outside those hours and it will be waiting for the team when the day starts. Design reviews and calls are arranged within opening hours, at a time that suits you.
Do you work with businesses outside Bangkok?
Yes. Our office is in Huai Khwang, but a website project does not need you in the room. Briefs, layout and design reviews, approvals and, on store projects, staff training all happen online, over email, WhatsApp and video calls. That suits a resort in Phuket, a factory in Chonburi or a shop in Chiang Mai just as well as a company near the MRT in central Bangkok.
