Website maintenance that keeps your site updated, backed up and working

We keep live websites updated, backed up, checked and edited after launch, including sites another developer built, priced per site after a review.

What does website maintenance cover?

Website maintenance is the routine work that keeps a live site safe, fast and correct after launch. For most business sites, that means updating WordPress and its plugins, taking backups you can actually restore, checking that the site and its forms still work, and making the small edits your team asks for.

If you want the longer, non-technical explanation of what website maintenance is and why it matters, our guide covers it. On this page we describe the work we do and how we price it. These are the tasks we agree with you before we start:

  • Core, theme and plugin updatesTested on a copy first when an update is large, so a broken plugin never reaches your customers.
  • Backups kept off the serverFiles and database, stored away from your hosting account, with a restore tested from time to time.
  • Uptime and security checksIs the site up, is the SSL certificate valid, are there admin accounts or files nobody recognises?
  • Form and checkout testsWe send a test enquiry, booking or order so a silent failure is caught by us, not by a lost customer.
  • Speed checksPage weight, image sizes and Core Web Vitals, compared with the last check.
  • Small content editsPrices, opening hours, staff changes, a new promotion banner, in English or Thai.

Why WordPress sites need regular care

WordPress is popular open-source software, and popularity makes it a constant target for automated attacks. Hacked WordPress sites tend to share a similar history: a plugin that stopped being updated, an admin password reused from somewhere else, and nobody checking for months.

What goes wrong when nobody is watching

  • Outdated plugins. A contact form or slider plugin with a known flaw is the usual way in.
  • Broken forms. A mail setting changes at the host and enquiries stop arriving. The site looks fine, so nobody notices for weeks.
  • Expired certificates or domains. Browsers show a warning and visitors leave.
  • Slow creep. Every new photo, script and plugin adds weight until the site feels sluggish on a phone.

A site written as a clean custom theme by a careful WordPress developer needs less of this firefighting, because there are fewer plugins to break. It still needs updates and backups.

Taking over a site someone else built

Owners often need a new maintainer because the original freelancer or agency has moved on. We are happy to maintain sites we did not build, but we look before we quote. The review follows the same order as our step-by-step process for new projects: understand first, then agree scope in writing.

  1. Step 1

    Access and ownership

We confirm who holds the domain, hosting, admin logins and any paid plugin licences, and that you can reach them.

  2. Step 2

    Full backup

Before we touch anything we take a complete copy of files and database.

  3. Step 3

    Health review

Versions, plugins, users, errors, speed, forms and any signs of past infection.

  4. Step 4

    Written proposal

What needs fixing once, what the routine work looks like, and the price for your site.

Hosting, domains and email

We do not sell hosting as a separate product, so your hosting account, domain registration and email stay in your company's name with your own providers. We work inside them with the access you give us. That keeps you in control if you ever change developer.

Who looks after what

ItemHeld byOur part
Hosting accountYou, with your providerServer settings, PHP version, backups, advice when it is too slow
Domain nameYou, with your registrarDNS records when something changes; reminders about renewal dates we can see
Business emailYou, with your email providerRecords that let site forms and mailboxes deliver properly

If your current host is the cause of slow pages or downtime, our guide to choosing web hosting in Thailand explains what to compare. If your team still sends quotes from free webmail addresses, read about setting up business email on your own domain before the next renewal.

Speed as part of maintenance

Each routine check includes a look at speed, because sites slow down gradually. Google's Core Web Vitals give fixed targets for good pages: Largest Contentful Paint within 2.5 seconds, Interaction to Next Paint of 200 milliseconds or less and Cumulative Layout Shift of 0.1 or less, measured at the 75th percentile of visits.

When a site is far off those marks, routine care is not enough. That becomes a separate project with its own diagnosis, which we describe on the Core Web Vitals optimization page.

How much does website maintenance cost?

Maintenance is priced per site, on request, after we have reviewed it. There are no fixed monthly tiers, because a five-page company site and a WooCommerce shop with fifty plugins are different jobs. The main drivers are the platform, the number of plugins, how often content changes and whether the site takes payments or bookings. Our page on what goes into a website maintenance plan explains each factor.

If you would rather do the routine yourself, our free website maintenance checklist lists the monthly tasks in order. Building a new site instead? Our one-time build packages are compared on the pricing page, and maintenance is quoted separately.

What stays with you

Maintenance covers the technical work, but a few things only the business can do:

  • Approving changes to prices, policies and anything legal in tone.
  • Paying renewals for the domain, hosting and paid plugins, which are billed to your accounts.
  • Sending new content, photos and promotions, in the language you want them published.
  • Telling us about changes that affect the site, such as a new branch, a new phone number or new staff who need logins.

Sites that cannot go down

For some businesses a broken page costs money by the hour. A resort whose booking button fails during the high season, or a shop whose PromptPay checkout stops confirming orders during a sale, needs tighter checks and more careful update timing than a brochure site.

For these sites we test the booking or checkout path after every update, schedule larger updates outside busy periods and keep a restore point ready. If you are planning a new property site, our page on hotel and resort website design with direct booking shows how we build the booking path. For shops, see online store development on WooCommerce and Shopify.

Other services

Sometimes the review shows that a site is not worth patching: an old page builder, no mobile layout, or a theme that has not been updated in years. In that case we will say so and quote a rebuild through our website development service, or a fresh look through website design and redesign. You can also browse the full list of services we offer.

Common questions

What does website maintenance include?

Our routine care covers WordPress core, theme and plugin updates, backups stored off the server, uptime and security checks, a test of your forms or checkout, a speed check and small content edits. The exact list and how often each task runs are written into your proposal, so both sides know what is covered and what counts as a separate job, such as adding a new section or a redesign.

How much does website maintenance cost?

We price maintenance per site after reviewing it, so there is no standard monthly figure to quote here. A small WordPress site with few plugins costs less to look after than a busy store with payments and many extensions. Send us your website address and we will reply with a written price for your site and the tasks included.

Can you maintain a website another developer built?

Yes. We start by confirming access to the domain, hosting and admin, take a full backup, then review versions, plugins, users, forms and speed. If we find problems from the past, such as malware or abandoned plugins, we quote the one-time clean-up separately from the routine care, so you can see what each part costs.

Do you host websites or manage domains?

We do not sell hosting on its own. Your hosting, domain and email stay in your company's name with providers you choose, and we work inside those accounts with the access you give us. We can recommend what to look for in a Thai or regional host and make the DNS changes needed when something moves.

What happens if my site is hacked or goes down?

Contact us on WhatsApp or by phone during our hours, every day from 10:00 to 19:00 Bangkok time. For a site we maintain, we first restore service from the latest clean backup where that is the fastest safe option, then find how the attacker got in and close it. We do not promise fixed response times, and we explain what happened in writing afterwards.

Do I have to sign up for maintenance after you build my site?

No. Maintenance is optional after launch. At handover we show your team how to make everyday edits and explain which updates matter. Some owners keep the site themselves and call us for bigger changes; others prefer that we handle updates and backups. You can decide at launch or later, once you see how much time the site takes.
