Hotel website design that makes booking direct the easy choice
Hotel and resort websites from THB 30,000, in English and Thai, with fast photo galleries and a short path to your booking engine.
Why direct bookings make the case for a hotel website
Hotel website design is the website around your booking engine: room pages, fast photos and a clear path to book direct, in English and Thai. Most hotels and resorts fit our Business package, from THB 30,000 with two languages and booking or enquiry flows, and a typical project takes about 15 days from the agreed brief to launch.
Every room sold through an online travel agency carries a commission, and the guest belongs to the OTA's app as much as to you. A room booked on your own website carries your booking engine's fee instead, and you keep the guest's email for the next stay. That difference, repeated across a season, is the business case for hotel website design. The OTAs stay useful for discovery; your website's job is to be the place a guest who has already found you finishes the booking.
Guests often check. Someone who finds you on an OTA may search your hotel's name, open the official site, compare the rate and read about the rooms. If what they find is slow, dated or has no obvious booking button, they go back and book through the agency. Good web design for a hotel is less about decoration and more about removing each reason to leave.
What a direct-booking site needs
- A "Book now" button that stays visible on every page, especially on mobile.
- Room pages that answer the real questions: bed type, size, view, maximum guests, bathroom, what is included.
- A reason to book direct, stated plainly, if you offer one: a flexible rate, breakfast, an airport transfer or late checkout.
- Contact options travellers already use, with WhatsApp and LINE buttons for quick questions before booking.
The booking path from room page to confirmation
We do not build booking engines. Availability, rates, payment and channel sync belong in dedicated hotel software, and most properties already pay for one. Our work is the website around it, and the path a guest takes from a room page to the engine's confirmation screen.
Two ways to connect
Link or embed your booking engine. The date picker on the homepage and each room page hands the dates and room type to your engine, so the guest lands on the right room with availability already showing. Rates come from the engine, never typed into the website, so they cannot fall out of date.
An enquiry and booking-request flow. Smaller guesthouses, villas and resorts that confirm by hand can use a request form inside the site: dates, room, guests and a message, sent to your reservations email. This is part of our Business package.
Which suits you depends on your volume and how you manage inventory; our comparison of online booking systems explains the trade-offs. Whichever you choose, we check the path on real phones before launch:
- Book button on every pageSticky on mobile, pointing to the engine or request form.
- Dates carried throughWhere the engine supports it, it opens on the chosen dates and room, not its own homepage.
- Rates from one sourceShown by the booking engine only, so the site never contradicts it.
- Room pages firstEach room type has its own page before the guest reaches the engine.
- Two taps to contactWhatsApp, LINE and phone for guests with a question.
- Tracked confirmationBooking completions visible in analytics, subject to cookie consent.
Photos, speed and mobile guests
Hotels sell with pictures, and pictures are what make hotel sites slow. A gallery of twenty uncompressed 5 MB photos from a professional shoot can take a long time to appear on a guest's phone over a patchy roaming connection, and that guest is often standing in an airport or on a BTS platform.
We keep the photography large and the pages light:
- Every image is resized for the screen it appears on and served in modern formats such as WebP.
- Only the first image of each page loads straight away; the rest load as the guest scrolls.
- Hero videos are optional, short and never block the booking button.
- We measure against Google's Core Web Vitals, which set targets for how quickly the main content appears, how fast the page responds to a tap and how much the layout shifts.
If your current site already has the photos but loads slowly, website speed optimization can fix much of it without a full rebuild. For layout ideas, we collected what works on the best hotel website designs we have studied.
Resorts are different again
A resort sells an experience, not only a room: the pool, the beach, the spa, the restaurant, the day trips. Resort website design gives each of these its own section or page, so a guest planning a week can picture the whole stay, while the booking button stays one tap away.
Thai and English for every guest
A Bangkok hotel serves Thai weekenders, business travellers and international tourists, sometimes in the same week. We build hotel sites with English and Thai versions of every page, each written for its reader rather than machine-translated, with a language switch that keeps the guest on the same room page. Thai guests planning a staycation often ask different questions from a foreign tourist: parking, family rooms, weekend packages, how far from the expressway.
If you also receive guests who read Chinese, Japanese or Korean, your booking engine may offer those languages on its own screens; we can link the matching version where it exists. How we structure English and Thai on one site, with separate URLs and correct language tags for search engines, is explained on our multilingual service page, and our guide to building a bilingual website covers the content side.
Being found when guests search nearby
Travellers often search on Google Maps: "hotel near Siam", "resort in Hua Hin with pool villa". Your Google Business Profile, your address, your reviews and your website all feed those results. We build the site so it agrees with your profile: the same name, address and phone number, a room and facility structure Google can read, and hotel schema markup on Business package builds. Managing the profile and replying to reviews stays with your team; we do not sell ongoing SEO, but we hand over a site that gives local search a clean start.
What does PDPA mean for guest data?
Booking-request and contact forms collect names, phone numbers, email addresses, travel dates and sometimes passport or special-request details. Under Thailand's PDPA, the form should say why it asks, collect only what reservations need, and link to a privacy notice. Passport numbers belong at check-in, not in a web form. A consent banner should hold back analytics and ad tags until the guest agrees, and newsletter sign-up should stay separate from the booking request; we can set both up as part of a PDPA-compliant website build, with the scope in your written quote.
Which package suits a hotel or resort?
Most hotels and resorts fit the Business package, from THB 30,000: up to 15 pages in English and Thai, a custom WordPress theme without a page builder, booking or enquiry flows, and schema markup.
A small guesthouse with a handful of rooms may manage with Starter. The E-commerce package, from THB 50,000, only makes sense if you also sell vouchers or products online. A typical project takes about 15 days from the agreed brief to launch, provided photos and room details are ready at the start. Compare the package prices in full; the final figure is in your written quote.
Planning a site for another part of the business? We also cover restaurant website builds for hotel outlets, and website development for real estate for serviced apartments sold or let unit by unit.

Common questions
Can guests book rooms directly on our website?
Yes. The usual setup links or embeds your existing booking engine, so guests choose dates on your site and confirm in the engine, which handles availability, rates and payment. If you confirm bookings by hand, we build a booking-request form instead that sends dates, room type and guest details to your reservations email. Either way, the book button stays visible on every page.
Do you build a booking engine?
No. A booking engine is specialised software that manages inventory, rates, payments and channel sync with the OTAs, and it is not something we build. We design and build the website around the engine you use or choose, connect the book buttons and date pickers to it, and make sure the handover from your room pages is short and clear on mobile.
How do we show large photos without slowing the site?
By resizing each photo for the screen it appears on, serving it in a modern format such as WebP, and loading gallery images only as the guest scrolls. The first image on each page gets priority so the page feels quick. Send us your original high-resolution files; we prepare the web versions, so your photographer's full-size files stay untouched.
Can the website be in Thai and English?
Yes, and on hotel sites we recommend it. The Business package includes English and Thai, with each room and facility page in both languages and a switch that keeps the guest on the same page. Thai copy should be written for Thai guests, not translated word for word, and who writes it is agreed in your quote. Other languages are outside our scope, but we can link to your booking engine's language versions.
Which package suits a boutique hotel?
Usually Business, from THB 30,000: up to 15 pages, English and Thai, a custom WordPress theme, and booking or enquiry flows. That covers a homepage, room pages, facilities, location, offers and contact for most boutique properties. A very small guesthouse may fit Starter, from THB 10,000. Prices are indicative; your written quote sets the final figure after we see your room types and content.
