Guides to website costs, platform fees and quotes
Every guide we have written on what a website costs in Thailand: build prices, platform fees, running costs and how to read a quote.
What does a website really cost?
A website has three layers of cost, and most budgets only plan for the first one. There is the build, paid once. There are the running costs, paid every month or year: domain, hosting, email, platform plans and paid plugins or apps. And there are changes: new pages, a second language, a redesign when the business moves on. A quote that looks cheap on the first layer can cost more over three years than one that plans all three.
The guides below take each layer in turn. They are written for owners and managers in Bangkok who want to understand the money before they talk to anyone, so you can read them in any order. If you only have ten minutes, start with the cost breakdown.

Start with the cost breakdown
Our main cost guide explains the seven things that set a website's price in Thailand: page count, custom or template design, one language or two, forms and booking, online payments, integrations, and who writes the content. It also shows how a quote is laid out and what a site costs to keep running each month. Read it first; the other guides go deeper on one piece each.
Platform fees explained
The platform you choose decides much of your running cost, and platform pricing pages are usually written for American buyers in US dollars. These guides translate them for a Thai business:
- Shopify plans and fees for Thai stores: the monthly plan, the extra fee on each sale when you use a Thai payment gateway, apps, and why the bill arrives in USD.
- What WordPress costs to run: why the software is free, what you pay for instead, and how WordPress.com plans differ from a self-hosted site.
- Wix and Squarespace against an agency build: three years of subscription, apps and your own time, set against a one-time build.
Quotes and pricing models
Two quotes for the same brief can differ by several times, and neither is necessarily wrong. The difference is usually in scope, in the pricing model, or in what has been left out. Three guides help you compare like with like:
- How web designers reach their number: packages, hourly and day rates, value pricing and retainers.
- A sample quote, explained line by line: scope, revisions, exclusions and payment terms, with the red flags to look for.
- Fixed price or hourly billing: which contract model suits a small, clear project and which suits one that will keep changing.
Money is only half of the decision. Timelines, briefs and launch steps are covered in our guides to planning and process, and you can browse more web guides for Thai businesses across every topic.
Our prices and how to get a quote
The guides in this section are editorial: they explain costs whoever builds your site. Our own offer is on separate pages. The main website prices in Thailand page lists our three packages, which start from THB 10,000 for Starter, THB 30,000 for Business and THB 50,000 for E-commerce. These are indicative one-time prices.
Two platform pages go into more detail: WordPress website cost for company sites, and the WooCommerce and Shopify store price page for online shops. Maintenance after launch is priced per site on request.
When you are ready for a real number, ask for a price for your project. Tell us what the site must do, how many pages you expect and whether you need Thai and English. The final price is set in a written quote, and payment terms are set out in that quote. You can also reach us on WhatsApp or call +66 93 004 4098, or email service@websitedevelopmentbangkok.com.
Common questions
How much does a basic business website cost in Thailand?
It depends on the number of pages, whether the design is custom, and whether you need Thai and English. Our Starter package, for up to five pages with a custom design on WordPress, starts from THB 10,000 as an indicative one-time price. The cost breakdown guide explains what pushes a basic site above that figure, and the written quote sets the final price.
What running costs should I budget each year after launch?
Plan for the domain renewal, hosting, business email, any paid plugins or apps, and a platform plan if you use Shopify or a site builder. Maintenance is a separate line if you want someone to handle updates and backups. The size of each line depends on your platform and traffic, so list them all before you compare quotes.
Why do web design quotes in Bangkok vary so much?
Quotes differ in scope more often than in hourly cost. One may include Thai copy, two revision rounds and PDPA consent; another may leave all three out. Pricing models also differ: packages, hourly rates and value pricing produce different numbers for the same brief. Put the quotes side by side, line by line, before you judge the totals.
Do you publish your prices?
Yes. Our pricing page shows three packages with indicative starting prices: Starter from THB 10,000, Business from THB 30,000 and E-commerce from THB 50,000. They show what each package includes, so you can see where your project is likely to sit. The exact figure for your site is set in a written quote after we understand the brief.
