Web design shaped around your customers, from first layout to full redesign

Custom web design and redesigns from THB 10,000: layouts built around your customers and approved by you before we build anything.

What is custom web design?

Custom web design means the layout is drawn for your content and your customers, instead of your content being squeezed into a theme someone else designed for a different business. It works for a new site or a redesign of an existing one, and our packages start from THB 10,000.

The menu has your service names in the order people look for them, the home page answers the questions your callers actually ask, and the enquiry button sits where a thumb reaches it on a phone.

A template or a DIY builder can be the right call for a hobby site or a test idea. For a business, the usual problems are generic layouts that look like a competitor's site, sections you cannot remove without breaking the page, and Thai text that looks cramped because the theme was only tested in English. If you are weighing those tools, our comparison of Squarespace vs WordPress vs Wix sets out what each can and cannot do. Starter and Business both start from a custom design, and for an online store the layout is agreed in your quote.

How we design a website

Design comes after the brief and before any code. That order matters: moving a box in a wireframe takes minutes, moving it in a finished build takes hours. The design steps below are one part of the wider website development life cycle we follow. If the difference between interface and experience design is unclear, our short guide to UI and UX design explains both in plain terms.

  1. Step 1

    Discovery

Who visits, what they want, what you want them to do, and which competitor sites you like or dislike and why.

  2. Step 2

    Sitemap

The list of pages and the menu, agreed before any layout is drawn.

  3. Step 3

    Wireframes

Grey-box layouts of the key pages on phone and desktop, so we agree the structure without arguing about colours.

  4. Step 4

    Visual design

Type, colour, photography style and components applied to the wireframes, using your existing logo and brand colours.

  5. Step 5

    Revisions and approval

You comment, we revise, you approve in writing. Only then does the build begin.

Design details that bring enquiries

Good-looking pages that do not produce calls or messages have failed. These are the details we check on every layout before it goes to you. Once the design is approved, the build itself is covered on our custom website development page.

  • One main action per pageA clear next step, such as book, ask a question or view prices, rather than six competing buttons.
  • Navigation in the customer's wordsMenu labels people search for, no more than they can scan at a glance.
  • Visual hierarchyThe headline, the key fact and the button are the first three things the eye lands on.
  • Short formsOnly the fields you will use, with the phone field suited to Thai and international numbers.
  • Thumb reachButtons and links large enough to tap and spaced apart, following the WCAG 2.2 target size guidance.
  • Readable contrastText colours that meet the WCAG contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 for body text.
  • Trust near the buttonAddress, opening hours and contact options next to the call to action, not hidden in the footer.

Designing for Thai and English readers

Thai and English behave differently on screen, and a design that ignores this looks fine in one language and broken in the other.

  • Fonts. Thai needs a typeface drawn for Thai script, with clear loops and tone marks. We pair it with a Latin font of similar weight so the two languages feel like one site.
  • Line height. Thai vowels and tone marks sit above and below the line, so Thai paragraphs need more vertical space than English ones.
  • Line breaks. Thai is written without spaces between words, so long headings can break in awkward places. We test real Thai headings, not placeholder text.
  • Text length. The same message can be shorter or longer in each language. Buttons and cards are designed with room for both.
  • The switcher. A visible language switch at the top of every page that leads to the same page in the other language.

Redesigning an existing website

A redesign makes sense when the site no longer matches the business, looks broken on phones, cannot be edited by your staff, or brings visitors who leave without calling. It does not make sense just because the site is a few years old and still does its job; sometimes a new home page and cleaner forms are enough.

Keeping what already works

The risk in any redesign is losing the search traffic the old site earned; our guide on whether website design affects SEO explains why. Before we draw anything, we list every existing URL and note which pages bring visitors. Pages that keep their topic keep their address where possible. Pages that move get a permanent 301 redirect to their new home, so old links and Google both find the right page. Thin or duplicate pages are merged rather than silently deleted. Our guide to an SEO-safe website redesign explains each check.

Briefing a redesign

If several people in your company need to agree on the project, write down the goals, the pages, the problems with the current site and the budget range before asking for quotes. Our request for proposal template for a redesign gives you a structure to fill in.

Corporate and small business design

Two situations come up often enough to have their own pages. An established firm with many services, managers who sign off, and partners who read English and staff who read Thai needs corporate website design with a deeper page structure and a clear approval routine.

A shop, salon, cafe or tutor moving from a Facebook page to a real site needs something simpler and quicker: our page on website design for a small business shows what five well-designed pages can do.

Design for hotels, restaurants and online stores

The visual priorities change with the business, as our website design by industry pages show. For hotels and resorts, large room photography, a rate or availability button that stays visible, and clear directions for guests arriving from the airport shape the layout. For restaurants, the menu has to be readable on a phone without zooming, not a scanned PDF, with opening hours and a map one tap away.

Shops are different again: product photos on a consistent background, prices and delivery options visible before the cart, and a checkout with as few steps as possible. That work is covered under online store development. If your team already knows it wants WordPress, see our page for a WordPress developer in Bangkok, which explains how the approved design becomes a custom theme your staff can edit.

How much does web design cost?

Starter and Business are custom designs. Starter, from THB 10,000, covers up to five pages. Business, from THB 30,000, covers up to 15 pages in English and Thai with two revision rounds. E-commerce, from THB 50,000, covers a Shopify or WooCommerce store, with the store layout agreed in your quote. For Starter and E-commerce, the number of revision rounds is written into your quote. See the package prices page for the full comparison. Once the site is live, we also offer care after launch, priced per site on request.

Common questions

Is a custom design worth it compared with a template?

For a business that depends on enquiries, usually yes. A template forces your content into someone else's structure, and you pay later in workarounds and a site that looks like many others. A custom design starts from your pages and customers. Because our Starter package already includes custom design, the gap in cost is smaller than most owners expect.

How many design revisions do I get?

The Business package includes two revision rounds. For Starter and E-commerce, the number of rounds is set in your written quote. A round means you collect all comments on the designs from your side, send them together as one consolidated set, and we revise the designs in one pass. Content on the built site is checked with you before sign-off, separately from the rounds. Grouping comments this way keeps the project on schedule and avoids contradicting changes.

Will a redesign hurt my Google rankings?

It can if URLs change without redirects or strong pages are deleted. We list every existing URL before the redesign, keep addresses where the topic stays the same, set permanent redirects for pages that move, and carry over titles and content that already rank. Some movement in the first weeks is common, but a planned redesign should not wipe out earned traffic.

Do you design Thai and English versions of each page?

On the Business package, yes: the site is designed for both languages, with a Thai font paired to the English one, extra line height for Thai and a switcher that keeps visitors on the same page. We test layouts with real Thai headings, because Thai line breaks and text length differ from English and can break a layout designed only in one language.

Can you redesign a site built on Wix or Squarespace?

Yes. We design the new site and rebuild it on WordPress with a custom theme. Content, images and page addresses are moved across, and old URLs get redirects where the platform's structure forces a change. The domain itself does not change; we point it to the new site at launch. Tell us which platform you are on so the quote covers the move.

Do you design logos or brand identities?

No. We design websites, not logos or brand identities. We work from the logo, colours and any brand guidelines you already have, and apply them consistently across the site. If you do not have a logo yet, a brand designer should create it first; the website design will then fit around it rather than the other way round.
