Pricing
What a WordPress website costs in Thailand, and what changes the price
A WordPress site with us starts from THB 10,000. Here is what that buys, the yearly running costs, and what moves the price.
How much does a WordPress website cost in Thailand?
A WordPress website built by us costs from THB 10,000 for a Starter site of up to five pages, or from THB 30,000 for a Business site of up to 15 pages in English and Thai. Both are one-time, indicative build prices.
The final figure is set in a written quote once we know your pages, languages and forms, and payment terms are set out in that quote too.
On top of the build you pay for hosting and a domain every year, and sometimes for a premium plugin licence. Those running costs are usually small next to the build, but they never stop, so budget for them from the start. If you are still comparing platforms, our overview of website prices in Thailand covers every package, including stores.

Build cost versus running cost
WordPress itself is free, open-source software released under the GPL licence, so nobody charges you for the platform. What you pay for is everything around it: the build, a place to host it, a domain name, and any paid add-ons. Mixing these up is the most common reason a WordPress budget goes wrong. A quote that looks cheap may leave out hosting; a hosting offer that looks cheap may say nothing about who builds the pages.
The table below separates the one-time cost from the costs that repeat. Hosting and plugin prices change, so check the provider's current pricing page rather than relying on any figure you read on an agency site, ours included. If you are weighing the hosted WordPress.com plans against self-hosted WordPress, our guide to WordPress pricing and plan types walks through that choice.
| Cost item | When you pay | Who you pay | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Design and build | Once, per project | Us | From THB 10,000 (Starter) or THB 30,000 (Business), confirmed in your quote |
| Hosting | Monthly or yearly | Your hosting provider | Price depends on traffic, storage and support level; check the provider's current rates |
| Domain name | Yearly | A domain registrar | Renewal prices vary by extension and registrar |
| Premium plugins or themes | Usually yearly | The plugin developer | Many sites need none; ask for any paid licence to be named in the quote |
| Maintenance and updates | Ongoing, if you choose it | Us or your own team | Priced per site on request |
| New pages or features later | When needed | Us | Quoted separately at the time |
Custom theme or template
Most of the price gap between WordPress offers comes from one decision: whether the site runs on a custom theme or on a bought template with a drag-and-drop page builder. A template install can be cheap because the layout already exists and the work is mostly swapping text and photos. A custom theme costs more because the pages are designed for your content and then coded to match.
What the cheaper route costs you later
Builder-based templates tend to load a lot of code on every page, which hurts speed on the mid-range phones most Bangkok customers browse on. They also make small edits awkward, because layout and content are tangled together, and a builder or template update can shift your pages without warning. Moving away from a builder later usually means rebuilding the pages, so the saving is often paid back with interest.
Why our Business package uses a custom theme
The Business package includes a custom WordPress theme with no page builder. Your team edits text, images and blog posts in the normal WordPress editor, while the design stays locked in code. That keeps pages lighter, keeps the English and Thai versions consistent, and makes the schema markup and keyword mapping in the package easier to maintain. The Starter package is also a custom design rather than a resold template, just with fewer pages.
A template can still be the right call for a very tight budget or a short-lived project. Our comparison of a template WordPress site versus a custom build sets out when each makes sense, and the service page on WordPress development for Bangkok businesses explains how we build and hand over the site.
What raises the price of a WordPress site?
Within each package the "from" price assumes a straightforward site. These are the things that push a WordPress quote upward, roughly from the biggest effect to the smallest. Use the list to decide what you really need at launch and what can wait for a second phase.
Agencies and freelancers also price differently: some bill by the hour, others quote a fixed project fee. We quote per project, so the number in your quote covers the agreed scope rather than the hours spent. If you are comparing offers built on different models, our explainer on how much web designers charge for a website shows how to line them up fairly, and the wider guides on website costs cover budgeting questions beyond WordPress.
- Page countStarter covers up to 5 pages and Business up to 15. More pages, or many unique layouts, means more design and build time.
- A second languageEnglish and Thai versions are part of Business. Each language needs its own menus, forms, metadata and checks, not only translated text.
- Forms and booking flowsA simple contact form is quick. Multi-step enquiry forms, booking requests with date choices or forms that route to different staff take longer.
- Content readinessIf your text and photos are ready and approved, the build moves faster. Writing, translating or sourcing images adds work and time.
- Blog and resource sectionsA blog with categories, author details and a clean archive is included in Business; heavy custom filtering goes beyond it.
- IntegrationsConnecting a CRM, email tool or booking system depends on what that tool allows. Some are simple, some need custom code.
- RevisionsBusiness includes two revision rounds. Changing direction after design approval is the fastest way to grow a budget.
- Migration from an old siteMoving and cleaning up existing pages, posts and redirects takes time, especially from an older builder theme.
Stores and maintenance
If you want to sell online, the budget changes shape. A WooCommerce store runs on WordPress, but product data, payment methods, shipping rules and tax documents add real work. Our E-commerce package starts from THB 50,000 and covers Shopify or WooCommerce, PromptPay, cards, cash on delivery, Thai couriers such as KEX Express (formerly Kerry Express) or Flash Express, product import and e-Tax invoice setup. A large catalogue can take longer than our typical 15 days, and we say so in the quote. The full breakdown sits on our page about e-commerce website prices.
After launch
A WordPress site needs care after it goes live. Core, theme and plugin updates arrive regularly, and a site left untouched for a year tends to collect security warnings, broken forms and outdated content. You can handle updates yourself, ask your own IT staff, or have us look after them. Our maintenance is priced per site on request, because a five-page brochure site and a bilingual site with booking forms need very different amounts of attention. What a sensible website maintenance plan should include is set out on its own page.
When you total up a WordPress budget, add three lines: the build, the yearly hosting and domain, and either maintenance time or someone on your side who owns updates.
Ask for a WordPress quote
The quickest way to a firm number is to tell us what the site must do. Send the rough page list, the languages you need, any forms or booking steps, and whether your text and photos are ready. A link to your current site or a competitor you like helps too. Use the form below to ask for a price for your project, or message us on WhatsApp at +66 93 004 4098 or email service@websitedevelopmentbangkok.com. We work in English and Thai and are open every day from 10:00 to 19:00 Bangkok time.
Common questions
Is WordPress free?
Yes. The WordPress software from WordPress.org is open source under the GPL licence, so there is no licence fee to use it. You still pay for hosting, a domain name and the work of designing and building the site. Some themes and plugins are paid, usually as a yearly licence, but many business sites run well with free, well-maintained plugins only.
How much does a WordPress website cost in Thailand?
With us, a WordPress build starts from THB 10,000 for a Starter site of up to five pages, and from THB 30,000 for a bilingual Business site of up to 15 pages with forms and a blog. These are indicative one-time prices; your written quote sets the final figure. Add yearly hosting and domain costs, plus maintenance if you want someone to handle updates.
Why is a custom theme more expensive than a template?
A template already has its layouts, so the work is mostly filling it in. A custom theme is designed around your content and then coded, which takes more hours at the start. In return you get lighter pages, no page builder to fight with, and a design your staff cannot break while editing. Over a few years that usually costs less in fixes and rebuilds.
What yearly costs come after launch?
Expect to renew hosting and your domain name every year, and any premium plugin licences the site uses. Those prices are set by each provider, so check their current pricing pages. Beyond that, budget for updates and small content changes, either as your own staff time or as a maintenance arrangement with us, which we price per site on request.
Can I start with Starter and upgrade later?
Yes, and it is a sensible route for a new business. Starter gives you up to five pages on WordPress with a custom design. When you need more pages, a Thai version, a blog or booking forms, we quote the extra work at that point. Tell us early if you expect to grow, so the first build leaves room for the pages and languages you plan to add.
