WordPress developer in Bangkok for custom-coded business websites

WordPress websites with a custom design from THB 10,000, and on Business a theme coded with no page builder, so pages stay light.

Custom WordPress websites without page builders

We are a WordPress developer in Bangkok building custom business websites: we design your pages, build them on WordPress and set up editing screens your staff can use. Builds start from THB 10,000 for a five-page Starter site with a custom design; the theme coded from scratch with no page builder is part of Business, from THB 30,000.

If you want a developer who will not hand you a slow, builder-made site, that is the work we do. Your staff can change text, photos, prices and posts without touching the layout, and a typical project takes 15 days.

WordPress itself is free, open-source software released under the GPL licence, which is part of why so many Thai businesses already run on it: no licence fees, a huge pool of people who know it, and no single vendor holding your site. What varies is how the site is built on top of it. Our WordPress work sits inside the wider web design and development service, which covers every platform we use; this page goes deep on WordPress only: themes, plugins, editing, redesigns and upkeep.

Who this suits

  • A company that wants a content site, a blog and enquiry forms, in English, Thai or both.
  • An owner whose current WordPress site is slow, broken after updates, or hard to edit, and needs a redesign.
  • A team that will publish news, listings or articles regularly and wants a clean editor to do it in.

Custom theme or Elementor: which is better?

Page builders such as Elementor let anyone drag blocks onto a page, which is why many cheap WordPress sites use them. The cost shows up later. Each page carries the builder's own scripts, styles and nested layout code, whether that page uses them or not. On a mid-range Android phone over mobile data, which is how a large share of Bangkok customers will first see your site, that extra weight is felt as a slow first screen.

A custom theme ships only the code your design needs. The trade-offs, side by side:

  • Speed: less code per page makes it easier to meet Google's Core Web Vitals targets, which measure loading, responsiveness and layout stability on real visits.
  • Editing: a builder lets editors move anything, including things that should not move. Our editing fields keep staff on the content while the design stays consistent.
  • Lock-in: builder layouts are stored in the builder's own format. Switch it off and many pages turn into shortcodes and broken markup. A custom theme uses standard WordPress content.
  • Updates: fewer moving parts means fewer surprises when WordPress or a plugin updates.

Builders still have a place, for example when a marketing team wants to assemble many one-off pages without a developer. We compare both honestly in our Elementor versus custom theme breakdown, and if you are still choosing a platform at all, read our guide to the best CMS for Thai businesses first.

What every WordPress build includes

The list below is what we set up on our WordPress builds; your written quote confirms which items your package includes.

Plugins deserve a word of their own. Each one is extra code someone else maintains, so every plugin we add has to earn its place: it must be actively updated, widely used and needed for something the theme should not do itself, such as forms or backups. A typical build of ours uses a short, vetted list rather than the twenty or thirty plugins common on older sites. If you are auditing your own site, our guide to the WordPress plugins most business sites actually need explains how to judge each one.

  • Custom design or coded themeBusiness builds get a theme coded for your design, mobile-first, with no page builder underneath; Starter has a custom design.
  • Editing fieldsClear fields for text, images, prices and listings, so staff update content without breaking layouts.
  • Vetted pluginsOnly maintained, widely used plugins for jobs like forms, backups and SEO settings.
  • On-page SEOStarter sets titles, descriptions, headings and clean URLs per page; Business adds keyword mapping and schema markup.
  • PDPA basicsStarter includes PDPA cookie consent; on larger builds, cookie consent, the privacy notice and consent on forms are set in your written quote.
  • Contact buttonsWhatsApp, LINE and call buttons that work on phones.
  • Handover trainingA walkthrough of the editor, as set out in your quote; staff training is part of the E-commerce package.

Redesigning an existing WordPress site

Most WordPress redesigns we are asked about start with the same complaints: the site is slow, an update broke something, or nobody remembers which of the many plugins does what. Patching that kind of site rarely fixes it. We rebuild it on a clean custom theme and move the content across, while protecting what already works.

What we keep

  • Your URLs. Pages that already rank or get shared keep their addresses. Where a URL must change, we set up a 301 redirect from the old one.
  • Your content. Posts, pages, images and form destinations are carried over, then tidied rather than rewritten from scratch.
  • Your domain and email. They stay where they are; only the website changes.

What we change

The theme, the plugin list, the page structure where it confuses visitors, and the editing screens. The new design goes through our design process and is approved before any building starts, so the build follows a settled design. We then test the new site on a staging copy, check forms and redirects, and switch over when you are ready.

WordPress for property, clinics and service businesses

WordPress is at its best when a business publishes structured content often. Two examples of how that plays out:

Property listings

An agency listing condos along a BTS line needs each unit as its own entry: price, size, bedrooms, district, photos, and a Thai and English version. We build a listing type with those fields, filters visitors can use on a phone, and an enquiry form on every listing that names the unit. Agents add a listing by filling in fields, not by designing a page. More on this in our guide to real estate and property website design in Thailand.

Clinic appointments

A clinic needs doctor profiles, treatment pages and an appointment request form that collects only what it should, with consent recorded for PDPA. Health details are sensitive data under the law, so the form asks for the minimum and says clearly how the data is used. Our page on clinic and medical website design covers the rest.

The same approach suits law firms, schools, restaurants and consultancies. Our overview of running WordPress in Thailand covers hosting location, Thai fonts and local payment plugins in more detail.

Bilingual sites

For Thai and English, we use a translation plugin that stores each language as its own page with its own URL, so Google can index both and visitors can switch languages from any page. Thai text gets fonts and line spacing chosen for Thai script, not borrowed from the English layout.

How the project runs

A WordPress project with us follows the same order every time, because content and design decisions made early are what keep the build inside a typical 15 days. The full timeline, with what we need from you at each stage, is on the page about how we work.

  1. Step 1

    Plan

We agree the page list, languages, forms and which content your team will edit after launch.

  2. Step 2

    Design

Key pages are designed and approved before any theme code is written.

  3. Step 3

    Build the theme

We build the theme (coded from scratch on Business), set up editing fields and install only the vetted plugins the site needs.

  4. Step 4

    Content and testing

Content goes in, then we test on phones, check forms, speed and both languages on a staging copy.

  5. Step 5

    Launch and training

The site goes live, and we walk your staff through the editor.

How much does a WordPress website cost?

All three of our packages can be built on WordPress. Starter, from THB 10,000, covers up to five pages on a custom design. Business, from THB 30,000, adds up to 15 pages in English and Thai, a custom theme with no page builder, a blog, booking or enquiry flows and schema markup. Prices are indicative; your written quote sets the final figure. What moves the price, such as page count, listings or a second language, is explained on our WordPress website cost page.

WordPress is not always the right tool. If selling online is the main job of the site, a hosted platform such as Shopify can be simpler to run, and WooCommerce suits stores that need to live inside an existing WordPress site. We cover both under ecommerce website design. For the full range, see all our website services.

Keeping WordPress updated

WordPress core, themes and plugins release updates regularly, and many of them fix security problems. An outdated or abandoned plugin is one of the usual ways into a WordPress site, which is why the short plugin list matters. The rest is routine care.

  • Updates applied and checked on the live site, not left to pile up.
  • Regular backups stored away from the site's own server.
  • Strong admin passwords, limited admin accounts and login protection.
  • Plugins reviewed and replaced if they stop being maintained.

You can do this yourself, or we can handle it through our website maintenance service, which is priced per site on request after launch.

Common questions

Why don't you use Elementor or other page builders?

Builders add their own scripts and layout code to every page, which slows sites on phones and stores your layouts in a format that breaks if the builder is removed. A custom theme carries only the code your design needs and uses standard WordPress content. You still edit text, images and posts yourself; you just cannot accidentally break the layout while doing it.

Can I edit my WordPress site myself after launch?

Yes. We set up editing fields for the content your team changes most, such as page text, photos, prices, listings and blog posts, and we walk the people who will do the editing through them at handover. Layout and design stay in the theme, so updates look consistent. Bigger changes, like a new page type, are a development job we can quote for.

Can you redesign my existing WordPress website?

Yes. We rebuild it on a clean custom theme and carry your content across. Existing URLs are kept where possible, and any that must change get 301 redirects, so old links keep working and the rankings you have earned are protected. The new design is approved first, the site is tested on a staging copy, and the switch happens when you are ready. Your quote sets out the scope and price.

Which plugins will my site use?

Only the ones it needs. Typically that means a form plugin, a backup tool, an SEO settings plugin and, on bilingual sites, a translation plugin. Each must be actively maintained and widely used. Anything the theme can do cleanly, such as layouts, sliders or custom listings, is built into the theme instead of added as another plugin. You get the list at handover.

How do you keep a WordPress site secure?

It starts with the build: a custom theme, few plugins, strong admin passwords, limited admin accounts and login protection. After launch, security depends on keeping WordPress, the theme and plugins updated and taking regular off-site backups. You can run those updates yourself, or we can handle them as part of maintenance, priced per site on request. No one can honestly promise a site will never be attacked, but these steps close the common gaps.

Can WordPress run a site in Thai and English?

Yes. We use a translation plugin that gives each language its own pages and URLs, with a language switcher on every page, so both versions can be indexed by Google. Thai pages get fonts and spacing suited to Thai script. English and Thai are included in the Business package, from THB 30,000, which covers up to 15 pages.
