Web design and UX

The best hotel website design examples, and the features behind each

Real hotel websites in Thailand, grouped by property type, with the one feature each gets right and a checklist of what to copy.

What do the best hotel websites have in common?

The best hotel website design does three jobs in order: it makes a guest want to stay, it answers their practical questions, and it takes the booking directly so you are not paying an online travel agency commission on a guest who already found you. The strongest examples share five features:

  1. A booking button or availability bar that is visible on every page, including on a phone.
  2. Room pages with real photos, room size, bed type and what the rate includes.
  3. A short, obvious menu: rooms, dining, facilities, location, offers, book.
  4. Location content that tells a guest how to get there and what is nearby.
  5. A clear reason to book direct, stated plainly.

Below are public hotel sites in Thailand, grouped by property type, with the idea worth taking from each. We checked each one was live and showed the feature described at the time of writing (September 2026). None of them is our work; they are simply good references. Designs change, so open them yourself before a meeting. Many of these choices line up with the wider website design trends for 2026, especially fewer menu items and larger photos.

City hotels

Shanghai Mansion Bangkok: location as a selling point

This Chinatown boutique hotel puts a "Check Availability" control near the top of its home page and lists its room categories by name straight after.

What stands out is how it uses the neighbourhood. The home page has a section on exploring old Chinatown and mentions the MRT station at Wat Mangkon close by. For a Bangkok city hotel, transit access is often the question that decides the booking, and answering it on the home page saves a guest from opening a map app and possibly a booking site with it. The site also offers a Chinese language version, a sensible choice for a hotel whose theme and street draw many visitors from Chinese-speaking markets.

Idea to borrow: name your nearest BTS or MRT station on the home page, not only on a contact page, and write a short guide to your own neighbourhood.

Boutique hotels

Ariyasom Villa: a menu short enough to read at a glance

Ariyasom Villa describes itself as a small luxury boutique hotel in the heart of Bangkok. Its main menu has just Home, Rooms, Restaurant, Spa and Gallery. That is the whole decision path for most guests, and nothing competes with it. Small properties are often tempted to add pages for every amenity; this is a good reminder that restraint reads as confidence.

Chakrabongse Villas & Residences: story and setting first

This riverside property in the old city opens with its setting on the Chao Phraya and its story, with a "Book" link at the top of the page. Location has its own menu item rather than being buried in the footer. For a property whose appeal is the place itself, leading with the river view and the history is the right call.

Idea to borrow: keep the menu to six or seven items and let one strong story carry the home page. Our guides to homepage design and website navigation go further on both points.

Beach and island resorts

Rayavadee, Krabi: a plain reason to book direct

Resort sites have to sell a feeling before a price, and Rayavadee leans on video: its home page invites visitors to watch a short film of the property.

More useful for owners is the wording on its offers. At the time of writing, a seasonal offer ends with a direct line about booking direct to enjoy special savings. It is short, it is specific, and it gives a guest who arrived from a travel agency listing a reason to finish the booking on the resort's own site.

A "Book Now" link sits in the header, and a language menu offers Thai, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, French, Spanish and Portuguese alongside English, which fits a resort drawing international guests from many markets.

Idea to borrow: state your direct-booking benefit in one sentence, near the booking button, and keep video as an option to play rather than something that loads before the page does.

Hostels and serviced apartments

NapPark Hostel: contact details where a backpacker looks

Hostel guests book late, often on a phone, and often with a question. NapPark's site shows a phone number, an email address and a "Book Now" button on its home page, and has a dedicated "Our Location" item. None of this is glamorous, but it matches how hostel guests decide. The same address and location details belong in your local business schema markup, so search engines read them too.

Arcadia Suites Bangkok: rooms named by what they are

For longer stays, clarity about space matters more than mood. Arcadia Suites lists its accommodation by layout, such as one-bedroom and two-bedroom options, directly in the menu, and states that it is minutes from Phloen Chit BTS station. A guest planning a month in Bangkok can see what fits a family or a couple without opening each page.

137 Pillars: one group site, several properties

137 Pillars Hotels & Resorts runs one site for its Chiang Mai house and its Suites & Residences in Bangkok, with a single Book Now button and a language switcher for English, Chinese, Japanese, Thai and Korean.

Idea to borrow: name rooms by size and layout, and for groups, keep one booking path across properties.

Which features should a hotel website borrow?

Pulling the examples together, here is the feature list we would work through with any hotel, resort or serviced-apartment owner. It is deliberately practical. If you want visual inspiration beyond hotels, our guide to web design ideas looks at sites from other industries. Two points need a word of care. Reviews: show only your real guest reviews, ideally linked to where they were left, and never rewrite or invent them. Room pages: use your own photographs of the actual rooms, taken in daylight, so what the guest sees is what they get.

  • Sticky availability barDates and guests fields, or a Book button, that stay visible while scrolling on desktop and phone.
  • Direct booking benefitOne sentence near the button: what a guest gets by booking with you rather than through an agency.
  • Complete room pagesReal photos, size in square metres, bed type, view, occupancy and what the rate includes.
  • Light galleriesCompressed images that load as the guest scrolls; video that plays on request.
  • Location answeredNearest BTS or MRT station, airport transfer options and your own short neighbourhood guide.
  • Honest reviewsReal guest reviews only, with a link to where they were posted.
  • Clear languagesEnglish and Thai at minimum, with a switcher that keeps the guest on the same page.
  • Short menuSix or seven items, with Book always last and always visible.
  • Quick contactWhatsApp, LINE and phone buttons for guests who want to ask before booking.

Speed, languages and PDPA

Speed on a phone

Hotel sites are photo-heavy, and that is where they get slow. Many guests look at your site on mobile data from another city or another country. Resize photos to the size they are shown at, serve modern formats, load gallery images only as the guest scrolls down, and avoid auto-playing background video on phones. A beautiful site that takes too long to show the first photo loses the guest to the booking app they already have open.

How many languages

For a hotel in Thailand, English and Thai are the minimum: English for international guests and Thai for the domestic travellers who fill rooms on long weekends and holidays. Extra languages make sense when a clear share of your guests comes from one market and you can keep those pages up to date. A half-translated Chinese or Russian version does more harm than none. Our own builds cover English and Thai.

Guest data and PDPA

Booking and enquiry forms collect names, phone numbers, emails and sometimes passport details. Under Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562 (2019), you need a privacy notice that tells guests what you collect and why, and separate consent for things like marketing emails. Ask only for what the booking needs, and make sure the cookie banner does not cover the booking bar on a phone.

Hotel groups with several properties benefit from design systems for websites: shared rules for buttons, room cards and headings so every property site looks related and loads the same way.

Building your hotel's site

Most independent hotels, boutique properties and serviced apartments fit our Business package, from THB 30,000 (indicative, one-time): up to 15 pages in English and Thai, a custom WordPress theme with no page builder, two revision rounds, forms and booking or enquiry flows, a blog for your neighbourhood guides, plus keyword mapping and schema markup.

If you already use a booking engine, you keep your own contract with that provider; most offer a booking widget or link that sits on your pages. The final price is set in the written quote, and payment terms are set out there. A typical project takes around 15 days, counted from the agreed brief to launch.

For more on how we approach hotels and resorts specifically, see our page on resort website design. To compare packages and understand the website design cost before you talk to anyone, the pricing page lists what each includes. And if your team or an agency has already designed the site, our guide to going from Figma to WordPress explains how that handover works.

Common questions

What should a hotel website include?

At minimum: a booking button visible on every page, a page for each room type with real photos, size, bed type and inclusions, dining and facilities pages, a location page with transport directions, current offers, contact options including WhatsApp and LINE, a privacy notice, and English and Thai versions. A short neighbourhood guide and a gallery are strong additions. Keep the menu short so the booking path stays obvious.

How can a hotel website win more direct bookings?

Make booking direct the easiest path. Keep an availability bar visible on phones, state your direct-booking benefit in one sentence, and answer the questions that send guests elsewhere: room size, what is included, how to get there. Load quickly on mobile data, offer WhatsApp or LINE for guests who want to ask first, and make sure room rates and photos match what agencies show, so guests trust your own site.

Which booking engine can connect to a hotel website in Thailand?

Most hotel booking engines, including those bundled with channel managers and property management systems, provide a booking widget, a search bar or a booking link that can be placed on any website. The right one depends on your PMS, your channel manager and the payment options you need, such as Thai cards or PromptPay. Ask your current provider what embed options they offer before the design starts, so the booking bar is planned in.

Should a Thai hotel website be in more than two languages?

English and Thai cover most needs. Add another language only when a clear share of your guests come from one market and someone can keep those pages current, including offers and rates. A partial or machine-translated version tends to hurt trust. If you do add one, make sure the language switcher keeps guests on the same page and the booking engine also supports that language. Our own builds cover English and Thai.

How much does a hotel website cost in Thailand?

It depends on page count, languages and how booking is handled. With us, a bilingual hotel site with room pages, enquiry or booking flows and a blog usually fits the Business package, from THB 30,000 as an indicative one-time price. A small guesthouse may fit the Starter package from THB 10,000. The booking engine subscription is separate and paid to its provider. Your written quote sets the final price.
